Ingredients

  • BACON FLAVORED HICKORY SEASONING SALT
  • 1 CAN PINTO BEANS
  • 1 CAN OF COLLARD GREENS
  • I PACKAGE OF YOU FAVORITE CORNBREAD MIX MAKE AS DIRECTED EXCEPT SUBSTITUTE BUTTERMILK FOR THE MILK AND BAKE AS DIRECTED
  • 1 BIG HAM STEAK (WELL AS MUCH AS YOU NEED)
  • BUTTER ( THE REAL STUFF)

Instructions

  1. PUT YOUR BEANS AND A 1/2 CAN OF WATER IN A POT ADD THE SALT TO YOUR TASTE ALONG WITH A PAT OR SO OF BUTTER, TURN THESE BEANS ON MEDIUM HEAT UNTIL BOILING THEN PUT A LID ON THEM AND LET SIMMER UNTIL THEY GET THICK AND YUMMY LIKE GRAVY. DO THE SAME WITH THE GREENS EXCEPT LET THEM COOK DOWN LOW BUT STILL HAVE SOME POT LIQUEUR. PUT THAT OLD HAM STEAK IN A LARGE SKILLET WITH ABOUT 1/3 CUP OF WATER AND LET IT SLOW SIMMER MAKING A LITTLE RED EYE GRAVY NATURALLY AS IT COOKS. THERE YOU HAVE IT IN ABOUT 20-30 MINUTES YOU WILL HAVE A GOOD OLD COUNTRY DINNER THAT TASTES LIKE YOU WORKED HARD ALL DAY COOKING. NOTHING GETS BETTER THAN A HUNK OF CORNBREAD, BEANS, GREENS, AND HAM THAT HAS THAT ALL DAY COOKED FLAVOR BUT JUST TOOK A MATTER OF MINUTES. I ALSO HAVE TO HAVE ME A GOOD SLICE OF SWEET ONION BUT THAT'S JUST ME. I COULDN'T MAKE THIS MEAL AS QUICK IF I HAD TO FRY BACON BUT THE SALT GIVES ME THE FLAVOR I WANT WITHOUT THE WORK. BACON SALT IS TOO DIE FOR!!!!!!! THE BACON SALT ALSO HELPS YOU CUT DOWN ON CALORIES.
